We started out on a mission to update the website and decided that the logo could use a refreshed look as well. Thanks to the talents of Once Blind Studios we were able to come up with something that will represent us well on many levels.

There are several characteristics that specifically touch on what we’re about. The most obvious feature is of course the buildings. They collectively represent the different type of office buildings we are in; from a 3 or 4 story suburban office building, up to a 40 floor skyscraper. However, more importantly it’s intended to show that any size business can create an office home with us. Additionally, OfficeKey subscribers can add or remove space as needed so it helps to reflect the building block nature in which companies create their office.

We tied in the company name by angling the top of the building to be notched like a key. And finally, when the logo is viewed entirely, it is similar to the power button symbol on a computer. We felt that was a strong and relatable image even if it wasn’t consciously apparent at first glance. Companies get a turnkey solution for their office that is ready to be powered up whenever they are ready.

I often find that we are competing against commercial office space providers.  When that occurs it is important for people to make certain that they are comparing apples to apples. Sometimes a commercial lease may seem like a better price relative to ours.  However if you dig into the details we are likely to come out ahead in value as well as on a square footage basis.

For the sake of argument let’s say that OfficeKey has a private office with 150 square feet that is available for $800 a month all in. On the other hand there might be a commercial space that is the same price but has 600 square feet. On the surface that seems like a better deal but there are several other factors to consider. On a most basic level is the fact that with OfficeKey, while your private dedicated space is only 150 square feet, your “office” will also consist of a reception area, a minimum of 6 meeting rooms at each location, and other common areas. They add up to a few thousand square feet compared to just 600. Not to mention that it is fully furnished and already has the receptionist position filled for you!

Another key point to consider is the lease term. Any business would be lucky to continually meet or exceed their projected growth, however that’s not always the case.
